After President Obama, during his visit to London, encouraged Britain to stay in the EU, Boris Johnson, the mayor of London who campaigns in favour of BREXIT, referred to Obama’s African heritage in a rather demeaning way.
The fact that Johnson, born in New York and holding US citizenship lends his comments additional weight.
No doubt, his rhetoric will be compared to Donald Trump's, another New Yorker.
Boris Johnson did a big favour to the EU and those in Britain who see the long term grandeur of the European project and "ever closer ties" to ensure that the European voice will still have weight in the world once the centre will have moved eastward.
